8K Video Wall Controllers

8K video wall controllers.

When the wall demands more than four 4K outputs — premium boardrooms, broadcast studios and XR stages.

What ‘8K video wall controller’ usually means

Two readings — and why the second is more common.

01

A single output at 7680 × 4320

True single-cable 8K. Rare in real installs because few sinks accept it natively and even fewer sources produce it; reserved for specific broadcast and XR workflows.

02

A controller driving an 8K-class canvas via tiled 4K

Far more common. Four 4K outputs tiled to produce an 8K-class canvas — the end visual is 8K, the engineering is 4× 4K. This is what Catalyst V and DT4000 deliver in our line.

The right reading depends on the source content and the display technology — direct-view LED, LCD or projection. We pick the chassis to match the actual content pipeline, not the marketing number.

Why this
Broadcast, defence and command-grade walls where 8K-class isn't a showpiece — it's the daily floor.
When to actually go 8K

It's about the room, not the headline.

  • Fine-pitch LED below 1.0 mm in premium boardrooms

Where viewers sit within 2 m of the wall and pixel structure is visible at 4K.

  • XR and virtual production stages

Where camera capture demands the canvas to outresolve the lens.

  • Broadcast studios

Where multi-region 8K-class compositing is part of the on-air workflow.

  • High-end retail and experience centres

Where the wall is the brand — not a utility.

  • Honest counter-case

For most NOCs and signage, 4× 4K outputs from a Catalyst V or DT4000 is the more honest answer than the headline 8K. We'll say so.

Pixel pitch implications

Pair the controller with the right canvas.

8K-class headroom is wasted on a 2.5 mm pitch wall. Pair Catalyst V or DT4000 with a sub-1.0 mm Planar VDS (down to 0.78 mm) for boardrooms and XR, or Planar PFI (down to 0.9 mm) for slightly larger viewing distances.
0.78 mm (Planar VDS)
Boardroom + XR — viewers within 1 m
0.9 mm (Planar PFI)
Premium briefing centres — 1.5–2 m viewers
1.2 mm (Planar PFI / VDS)
Larger experience centres — 2.5–3 m viewers
Typical content sources

What actually feeds an 8K-class wall.

  • Native 4K media servers

Pre-rendered 4K assets stitched into 8K-class canvases at the controller.

  • Broadcast cameras over SDI

Live capture from multi-cam galleries — converted at the controller.

  • GPU-rendered XR content

Real-time engine output for virtual production stages.

  • Design workstations over DisplayPort 1.4

Direct connect from creative workstations into Catalyst V.

  • Video conferencing codecs

Codec output as one of many sources, not the lead.

Price context

Project-driven and pitch-driven.

Pricing is project-dependent and reflects the controller chassis class (Catalyst V or DT4000), the LED canvas pitch, processing/redundancy options and the install / structural scope. We don't list prices because honest 8K project totals vary by an order of magnitude with pitch choice. A 0.78 mm wall and a 1.5 mm wall driven by the same Catalyst V are different conversations.

Why VVT for 8K-class

The full premium stack — under one supplier.

  • Authorised access to the full premium stack

Planar VDS plus Jupiter Catalyst V plus Drita DT4000 — rarely offered under one supplier in Bengaluru.

  • Bengaluru staging and burn-in

8K-class systems are pre-staged at our bench, scenario-tested with your sources before they reach site.

  • AMC with response SLAs

Tiered AMC across Bengaluru and Karnataka, with cabinet- and card-level spares held locally on committed projects.

Common questions

The short answers.

In our line, 8K canvases are most commonly delivered as four tiled 4K outputs. The end visual is an 8K-class canvas — the cabling and processing are 4× 4K under the hood.
